This High Heel Junkie’s addiction for fabulous heels extends past my closet. Expressing your style through your shoes, your smile or your home is all a part of what makes a High Heel Junkie. So having a little bit of super chic wall art definitely fits the bill. As you guys may have noticed, I love art, especially when heels are involved. I’ve been talking about custom shoes and artist drawn hand-painted heels…Imagine how amazing it was to come across MADART!
Artist Megan Duncanson has been painting and creating art for as long as she can remember. MADART comes from her initials (her middle name is Aroon). “I first thought of this handle years ago when I was selling my art on eBay and needed an easy way for people to search for me and find my art,” she says. Megan has been selling her amazing pieces since 1999.
High Heel Junkie got a little one-on-one time with the amazing artist and admitted High Heel Junkie:
What is your inspiration?
I’m inspired by everything around me! Whether it’s a stunning new pair of high heeled shoes, a fancy dress, a beautiful sunset, a whale breaching in the ocean and even the simplest thing such as the color of a flower or even a colorful lizard of all things!I love your selection of “Stiletto Art”! Which of the paintings is your favorite?
My favorite Stiletto painting is “Look at My shoes” it was the first shoe painting I had ever done and I created the idea to do a shoe series after I painted my 2nd Diva Painting “Look at Me” (I attached a photo) and she is wearing those very shoes! I would wear them in a heartbeat if they were real!Do you have any words for aspiring young (or old) artists?
For all artists I believe it is SO important to stay true to who you are and your vision as an artist. There are going to be plenty of people who will critique your art and tell you something is wrong with it or it’s amateurish or anything negative because the art may not appeal to them, but there is going to be someone else (many people) who sees something beautiful in that same artwork just as the artist did when creating it. So, if it’s beautiful to you and you want to create it, then do it! Don’t listen to the naysayers, follow your dreams and be the best artist that YOU can and want to be!
In your opinion, what is the hottest shoe trend right now?
For me the hottest shoe trend is “the higher the better”! I LOVE a high heel shoe (stiletto) and what it does for a woman’s legs and posture is truly amazing, we get too feel like tall Amazonians, LOL! Luckily my husband is 6’2″ and I’m only 5’8″ so I can wear just about as high a heel as I want.…And the worst shoe trend?
I would have to say the Worst shoe trend is the super high platform/wedge boot. A wedge is nice if it’s in moderation and/or a sandal, but when you start going to a 5-6 inch wedge on top of a 2-3 platform in a boot style, it looks like some sort of alien footwear! Are you a High Heel Junkie?
I am DEFINITELY a “High Heel Junkie”!! If I could have a whole closet full of gorgeous stiletto shoes I would be in heaven! Every time I go into a shoe or clothing store I immediately beeline it to the high heels and stand there drooling and trying to decide which pair(s) to take home with me
I make my husband take me out to dinner or the movies just so I have an excuse to wear my newest pair of High Heels, because they make me feel like a woman, and he isn’t complaining, trust me!
Here are more of her Fabulous paintings!
